Volunteer

Community Law Center’s Pro Bono Program provides attorneys a unique and flexible opportunity to learn new areas of the law, sharpen skills, and interact with volunteers passionate about their organization’s mission while also improving the safety, quality of life, and economic vitality of neighborhoods and nonprofits in Maryland. The Pro Bono Program’s success relies on our network of hundreds of volunteer attorneys.

Pro bono attorneys are always needed to handle cases in the following practice areas:

  • Corporate;
  • Tax;
  • Real estate;
  • Land use;
  • Contracts;
  • Employment;
  • Copyright and trademark;
  • Nuisance abatement;
  • Liquor license protests; and
  • Much, much more!

Time and time again, my neighborhoods turn to CLC for the legal assistance we would otherwise lack, most often on the case of liquor license transfers, appeals to the Circuit Court, ongoing violations and Memoranda of Understanding. In my experience, CLC can consistently and successfully lead us through the negotiations and format of such agreements. In addition, CLC is a great self-help resource, regularly conducting focused sessions for neighborhoods on diverse legal issues we face in our daily work. We need and value its unique and professional services to our neighborhoods.
